A respected international legal advisor and counsel, Henry has served in numerous roles including as Chief General Counsel of the Australian Government Solicitor and Principal International law Counsel in the Attorney-General’s Department. He has represented the Commonwealth in leading constitutional and international law cases, during that period he on occasion acted as Solicitor-General of the Commonwealth.
- Appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2004 for his service as Chief General Counsel of the Commonwealth.
- Awarded the Centenary Medal for his significant contribution to legal services.
- Fellow and Foundation Member of the Australian Academy of Law.
- Former Lecturer at the ANU College of Law (1981 - 85).
